About: Le’Chaim America

Le’Chaim America is an effort of Reut USA to support Jewish institutions and communities in celebrating the Semiquincentennial in a distinctly Jewish way, which celebrates the legacy and destiny of American Jewry in America. Le’Chaim America has the following projects

American-Jewry Studies

American-Jewry studies refers to learning about the legacy of American Jewry as the great diaspora of our time. This effort is focused primarily on Jewish schools, synagogues and community centers. In this context, Reut USA created useful materials including the timeline of American Jewry; a list of heroes of American Jewry; and a reading list.

For Schools

We call upon schools to celebrate the Semiquincentennial during the current and coming academic years (2025-2026 and 2026-2027) in a variety of ways including in-class teachings, guest lecturers and field trips. For an outline of possible activities, click here.

For Camps

The height of the Semiquincentennial will be on July 4, 2026, when all Jewish camps will be in session. We will offer camps support in marking the Semiquincentennial in a distinctly Jewish way that celebrates the legacy of American Jewry as the great Diaspora of our time.
